Mothering

I fell in love with Mothering Magazine when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I was preparing for a homebirth and found this publication to be such a breath of fresh air in regards (most of) our views of parenting and how we wanted to live our family life. I love love love Mothering Magazine and they are offering a free 1-yr digital subscription. Check it out!!!

  2. I actually just ordered a subscription a few weeks ago, but it hasn't come yet. I'm really excited for it! There are a couple things they advocate that I'm not so keen on, but I think that it generally advocates healthy living and the importance of motherhood. SO excited!

  3. Yes, they do tend to be a bit....liberal, but for the most part they do have fantastic articles on breast feeding, diet, birth stories, clothe diapering, kind living, gardening, etc. I'd say MAYBE one issue a year has a "questionable" key topic. I've missed my subscription and am so happy for the digital freebee.
    Enjoy yours!

  4. It's not even the liberal stuff, it's more the agenda of "anti-medicine," "say no to circ" and "gentle discipline" that I tend to tilt my head at. What's great is that there are so many wonderful resources out there and that we mothers get to sift through it all and find the best of the best.

  5. Though I do tend to agree more with them on those issues, I do find that they go a bit too far to the extreme in advocating those types of topics....almost pointing "bad parent" fingers at those who of us who DO take our kids to the medical doctors, DON"T co-sleep, sometimes bottle feed, (God forbid) formula feed, etc. I love that they do give credible information along with sources for people to further research for themselves.

Case in point, Love the magazine and MOST of what it offers. ;-)
