Finding Hope

Dearest Friends (online and off),
I am writing this post from the pediatric ICU of MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. This morning I took Hayden to the clinic because of his lethargia and pastey color. They immediately sent him via ambulance to Fargo where his condition has been diagnosed as HLH. I won't even try to write out what that stands for (right now), but all I know is my little boy is very very sick. VERY SICK. HLH is a very rare blood disease which attacks the red blood cells. It literally causes the white blood cells to "eat or burn" the red ones. His body is fighting against itself.....and losing (right now). We need prayers. Lots of them. He got very sick very fast....within 36 hours. And the doctors are trying very hard to stablize him enough to undergo a form of chemotherapy that will kill off this disease......hopefully before it kills him. Chemo starts tomorrow morning. Please please please storm heaven with prayer.....join us in pleading with God for Hayden's life. The survival rate is only 50/50. It is very fast acting, very fatal, and very rare. And Hayden is very young and not very strong right now. I beg you.....PRAY!

  1. Our love and constant thoughts and prayers are with you all and focused on Hayden. I pray that as the days goes on you do find HOPE I pray that you are completely immersed in it. It seems impossible to not be scared and feel helpless right now, but we have GOd of Strenght and love and a God the gives us reason to HOPE. Even in your scariest, darkest moments, God is there with you, taking your hand and carrying you through. And if you find it impossible to find Hope, we will HOpe for you. We will believe. We DO believe. God can work with 2% so he can certainly work with 50%. I believe that with all my heart.

    I love you. Kristin

  5. prayers for you and your family!!!!! Lord, please wrap little Hayden in your loving, healing hands and give him peace and comfort as he literally fights for the life that you have blessed him and his family with. I pray for his parents that they might depend solely on your grace to get them through this..that they will turn to you and keep their eyes fixed on you during this challenging time. Oh Divine Healer, we ask that it be your will that you would heal this sweet boy and allow him to fight this fight and and go home with his mommy and daddy...as always, may your will be done!!

    blessings..maria and family from houston
